WESTPAC Calls for Abstracts and Manuscripts

The Sub-commission for the Western Pacific (WESTPAC) of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) has extended the deadline for submission of abstracts for its Ninth International Scientific Symposium to 15 December.
The Symposium is scheduled on 22–25 April 2014 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Preparation guidelines for abstract submissions can be found on the Symposium website.
Also, WESTPAC and the Ocean Science Journal (OSJ) are calling for submission of manuscripts for the OSJ's special issue dedicated to the Symposium. The OSJ is a professional scientific journal focusing on the seas in the Asia-Pacific and is currently seeking approval to be on the Science Citation Index (SCI) of Thomson Reuters.
The OSJ is currently registered to 25 renowned bibliographic databases, including SCOPUS, and has an Estimated Impact Factor of 0.957, which is quite competitive in the field of marine science.
The guidelines for preparation and submission of OSJ manuscripts will be announced by the end of November. Participants who wish to submit their manuscripts are advised to take notice of the upcoming announcement at the Symposium website.
