Twenty young ocean leaders to lead the East Asian Seas Congress 2024 Youth Forum

Located in Uljin City, Korea, the Korea National Ocean Science Museum will host the delegation of

20 young leaders from 10 countries for the East Asian Seas Congress 2024 Youth Forum 

 

Quezon City, Philippines – Twenty young ocean leaders from 10 countries in the East Asian Seas region were selected to lead and participate in the East Asian Seas 2024 Youth Forum, which will be held on 15-19 April 2024 in Uljin City, Korea.

 

The Youth Forum is one of the key preparatory events leading up to the East Asian Seas Congress 2024 set in Xiamen, China on 6-8 November 2024. Last year, the National Korean Ocean Science Museum (KOSM) and Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) signed an agreement to host the Youth Forum 2024 at KOSM. The one-week forum will provide a platform for young leaders to share knowledge, learn from each other and drive more impactful initiatives for the youth sector on climate change adaptation and marine conservation in the East Asian Seas region.

The 20 young leaders were selected from the pool of 271 applicants from 10 countries in the region. They were selected based on leadership potential and experience, influencing and networking ability, relevant professional experience, and a set of short essays on their vision as youth leader for the seas and ocean.
