We are pleased to announce that applications are now accepted for a Training Course on Accessing and working with state-of-the-art satellite data for marine applications, to be held at the University of the Philippines Visayas from 25-26 November 2018.
Satellite data provides information on the marine environment that can be used for many applications. The most modern generation of satellites offer improvements in spatial and temporal resolution as well as a constantly evolving suite of products. Organized by Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML), in collaboration with the Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) and the University of the Philippines Visayas, this training course is an opportunity to learn about the data available from Copernicus and other relevant Earth Observation programmes, and then provide opportunities to develop workflows for using data from the EUMETSAT Copernicus Marine Data Stream, using the Sentinel Applications Platform (SNAP) software, and Python programming.
More information available here and application details are here. Travel and subsistence support are available for a small number of applicants. For PEMSEA countries, please submit your applications to Johanna Diwa, Capacity Development Manager, jdiwa@pemsea.org, by 31 August 2018.
