SPEAKER
Dr. Jessica YE Guanqiong is an assistant professor of Ocean College and the Vice Director of the World Tourism Island Research Center in Zhejiang University, China. She is also the coordinator of PEMSEA’s Learning Center in Zhejiang University. Her research interests focus on the dynamics between social-economic development and environmental health in coastal and ocean ecosystems. Dr. Ye’s immersion in ocean science began during her undergraduate studies in Xiamen University, China. Jessica received her PhD in Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) from the National University of Singapore. She has experience in island ecosystem health assessment, oil spill impacts on marine biodiversity, marine policy assessment, ICM performance assessment, coastal and marine policy study, marine carrying capacity evaluation and marine and coastal redline mapping. She has lectured in the fields of coastal and ocean management, marine policy, ocean science and climate change.
