Thank you to our youth

PEMSEA values the role and importance of youth participation and engagement in fostering healthy and resilient coasts and oceans. One of the programs we offer are internships to select college graduates and early career professionals interested in ‘hands-on’ research and ‘on the job training’ from all over the world.
These youth are able to assist across PEMSEA activities, including in our youth program. They provided core support for the inaugural EAS Futures Youth Photo and Video Competition. This provided a platform for later iterations of the event, as well as to other youth engagement activities such as potential youth innovation grants.
At the first ever virtual East Asian Seas (EAS) Congress 2021, we are grateful for the inputs and hard work of four interns who did some research on various coastal and marine issues, helped organized various e-collabs and creatively designed and marketed the Congress and PEMSEA.
