PEMSEA Welcomes Officer for Professional Services

Quezon City, Philippines — Mr. Ryan Whisnant joins the PEMSEA Resource Facility as its Head of Professional Services, effective 24 November 2014.

As Head of Professional Services, Mr. Whisnant will be a core member of PEMSEA's Management Committee and Knowledge Management project team. He will be responsible for the development of a East Asian Seas Sustainable Business Network, institution of a PEMSEA Services model, and development and initiation of a strategy and work program to facilitate identification and development of investment projects in the brown and blue sectors, and mainstreaming such investments into the medium-term development and investment plans of national a local governments.

Mr. Whisnant is a sustainable management professional with business and environmental engineering background, with over 10 years experience managing and consulting on projects for NGOs, private sector, and government. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan. Mr. Whisnant was responsible in putting together a Strategy and Implementation Plan for Achieving a Self-sustained PEMSEA which was approved by the 6th EAS Partnership Council Meeting.
