PEMSEA launches New Web Site at the EAS Congress 2015

Over its more than 20-year history, PEMSEA has stayed on the forefront of coastal and marine sustainable development, including the introduction and scaling up of integrated coastal management (ICM) across East Asia and the adoption of the Sustainable Development Strategy for the Seas of East Asia (SDS-SEA) by 14 countries. As an organization, PEMSEA continues to evolve to meet the needs of its partners and address the most pressing issues related to coasts and oceans in the region.

20th NOWPAP IGM held in Beijing

The 20th NOWPAP Intergovernmental Meeting (IGM) was held on 28-30 October 2015 in Beijing, China.  The meeting was attended by representatives of the NOWPAP Member States (the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation).  Directors of the NOWPAP RACs, a representative of UNEP Headquarters and RCU staff members also attended the meeting.  A representative of the North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES) attended the meeting as a NOWPAP partner.

As a PEMSEA Non-Country Partner, NOWPAP participated in a number of important meetings, workshops and special events at the Congress, including the East Asian Seas Partnership Council meeting and Ministerial Forum of PEMSEA member states.
