Renato Cardinal is the Project Manager of the CI-GEF-DENR-BMB Philippine Rise Integrated Conservation for Enduring Legacies through Ecosystem Support Services (PRICELESS) Project. Renato is an environmental management and quality assurance expert with over two decades of experience designing, implementing, and auditing integrated management systems across East Asia. As the Programme Manager for Partnership Applications at the PEMSEA Resource Facility from 2010 to 2020, he led regional sustainable development initiatives, developed the regional Port Safety, Health and Environmental Management (PSHEM) Code, and facilitated Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) certifications for 15 local governments. His expertise spans multi-industry consulting, compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, and capacity building for international port authorities in Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Previously, he served as Vice President of Business Development at Neville-Clarke Philippines and held quality assurance leadership roles in industrial manufacturing.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology and earned postgraduate units toward a Master's in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. Academically and technically grounded, he is an IRCA-Registered Lead Assessor and holds registered tutor credentials for environmental auditing courses with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and Marsden International (EARA).
