Protecting Beaches form Erosion and Adapting to Impacts of Climate Change
- 12% of Bali's coastline vulnerable to erosion as a result of uncontrolled development, sea level rise, storm surges and flooding, impacting Balinese culture and tourism industry
- Coastal use zoning (CUZ) scheme, adopted in 2005, curbing natural and man-made impacts, including mangrove and coral protection/restoration, inland reforestation, beach stabilization and sand replenishment.
