The South China Sea Project Training Programme has been developed to build capacity within the South China Sea Project Partner Network to guide the long-term sustainability of South China Sea Project interventions. The purpose of this portal is to keep members of the project network informed of developments and key events of the training programme. Specifically, the portal contains information regarding the tentative dates for each training event and contact details for the individuals nominated by the project's National Technical Focal Points to participate in the regional training workshops.

The 19th Intergovernmental Meeting of COBSEA will be graciously hosted by the Royal Government of Cambodia. During the meeting, the New Strategic Direction (2008-2012): A White Paper that was discussed at the Special Intergovernmental Session of COBSEA in Putrajaya, 5-6 September 2007, will be tabled for consideration and possible adoption. In addition, the meeting will discuss the proposed work plan and budget for the East Asian Seas Regional Coordinating Unit (EAS/RCU) for 2008-2009. The meeting documents will be circulated to the COBSEA member countries six weeks prior to the meeting.

The Training Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC/TD) was created by the SEAFDEC Council during its Inaugural Meeting in 1968 in Bangkok, Thailand and was formally established in 1970 with the objectives to develop modern fishery technologies for the better use of marine fish resources and to reduce manpower shortages in marine capture fisheries in Southeast Asia.

Integrated Tropical Coastal Zone Management (ITCZM) is a field of specialization at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) under the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) and the School of Civil Engineering (SCE). This interdisciplinary field aims to develop human resources for coastal zone management in the Asia and Pacific region. Coastal areas encompass a diverse array of resources and ecosystems with intense human activities. Scholarship for students from ASEAN countries, India and Bangladesh 100% scholarships are provided by DANIDA, the Danish government funding agency For students of EU countries 100% scholarships are provided though the PTS program, funded by the EU.

The world's major coral reef science meeting, the International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS), is held every 4 years.
The ICRS is devoted to the best reef science available, with the purpose of sharing scientific findings with government agencies, resource management, and non-government organizations throughout the world.
Previous ICRS have been held in Okinawa (2004), Bali (2000), Panama (1996), Guam (1992), Australia (1988), Tahiti (1985), the Philippines (1980), Miami (1977), Australia (1974), and the 1st ICRS in India (1969).
