Extended Deadline for Submission of Abstracts for the 8th IOC/WESTPAC Scientific Symposium

The IOC Sub-Commission for the Western Pacific (IOC/WESTPAC), together with the Government of Republic of Korea, announces the extension of the deadline for abstract submission for the 8th IOC/WESTPAC Scientific Symposium to 20 December 2010 in response to the ever-increasing requests from many scientists in the region.

Accordingly, the notification of abstract acceptance will be also extended to 30 December 2010. Those who have not registered and submitted abstracts may do so through http://www.kocean.or.kr/westpac_symposium

The Government of Republic of Korea has also launched the Young Scientists Support Program in support of the participation of 20 young marine scientists from the region into this Symposium. Once selected in accordance with relevant criteria, the young scientists will be provided with registration fee, meals and accommodations as well as some limited per diems.
