Second EAS Youth Forum
Specifically designed for young environmental
enthusiasts, the 2nd EAS Youth Forum (YF2) builds on the success of the
1st EAS Youth Forum in 2006, whereby the
Youth Agenda for the Seas of East Asia was formulated and adopted.
YF2 is a venue where young individuals in the EAS Region can be
involved in addressing environmental issues and in the sustainable
development of the marine and coastal areas.
2nd EAS Youth Forum Theme: Youth, Oceans, and Climate Change
Be part of exciting activities and lectures; interact with climate change experts, legislators and authorities in coastal and marine management; and get a chance to speak with Ministers from EAS member countries and Executives from international organizations.
If you:
- are a national of the countries in the East Asian Seas Region (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, DPR Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, RO Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam)
- are a college student or young professional aged 18 to 25
- are proficient in English
- are an active member and endorsed by a youth or environmental organization or institution
- are from any of the following preferred fields: natural sciences (environmental, fisheries, chemistry, marine science, etc.), social sciences (communication arts, journalism, mass communication, multimedia, etc.); or international relations
- have the desire to learn and share time, ideas and efforts in protecting coastal and marine resources in his/her community/country
- have strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- have access to the Internet
Then you can be a part of the EAS Congress 2009 Youth Forum! Accomplish the Application form (Form 1) and Endorsement form (Form 2) and submit to the EAS Congress 2009 Secretariat. Applications will be reviewed by the EAS Congress 2009 Secretariat.
