Expo Hall: Environmental Exhibition - What’s In

The exhibition's take-home message is to recognize that the marine ecosystem is a large and complex whole. Understanding the interconnectivity of the seas of East Asia will promote oneness in raising appropriate awareness of an array of issues and thus being able to incite passion and action among its stakeholders.

Interested parties are being invited to be part of the EAS Congress 2009 Exhibition. Business groups, private organizations, NGOs, media, universities, research institutions and community members may highlight their programs, projects, services, good practices, and success stories in the field of ocean and coastal sustainability. The forum is a venue for exchange of business opportunities on coastal and ocean management in the international marketplace. Empower, Enhance, Enable - From the Eyes of the Youth

Specifically designed for young environmental enthusiasts, this youth forum aims to: provide a venue for dynamic knowledge sharing and youth empowerment; increase the youth sector's awareness and appreciation of the rich marine heritage of the East Asian Seas region; and enable them to understand the dynamics of coastal and marine management through discussion and interaction with experts, authorities and fellow young environment enthusiasts

Out of the Ordinary... Network of Local Governments

A local government initiative, the PEMSEA Network of Local Governments (PNLG) for sustainable coastal development initially convened in 2006 at Haikou, PR China, and signed the PNLG Charter. The network aims to facilitate as an advocacy group for local governments at regional and international forums, promote the socioeconomic and ecological benefits of ICM and advance policy reforms in support of integrated management of coastal and marine resources. PNLG is open for membership.

Capture locally implemented and community-based integrated coastal management (ICM) initiatives thru the lens. Photo enthusiasts, hobbyists, experts, youth, across the region, are invited to join the photo contest. The contest will emphasize the importance of turning knowledge and concern about the coastal and marine environment into actions.
